About Masters in Engineering
A Masters degree in Engineering gives you the right skills, qualifications and training to pursue a career in engineering.
Engineering involves the design, maintenance and creation of the machines, systems and civil structures used in everyday life. An Engineering Masters usually covers skills in mathematics, design, and technical knowledge, with potential opportunities to gain practical engineering experience.
The two main types of Engineering Masters degrees include MEng (Master of Engineering) and MSc Engineering programs –- both of which allow students to become qualified engineers in a variety of fields.
An MEng is a four-year integrated course completed at undergraduate level. An MSc Engineering course is a postgraduate program, usually completed after a BEng (Bachelor of Engineering).
Many Masters in Engineering offer accredited qualifications, providing officially recognised chartered engineer status. Accredited qualifications are recognised by the UK Engineering Council (ECUK) –- so check the course details to find accredited Engineering Masters.
Why study a Masters in Engineering?
Engineering encompasses a wide range of disciplines, with many exciting career opportunities. From construction, design, technology, manufacturing and beyond, there’s an area of engineering to suit every passion –- and an Engineering Masters is the perfect way to get there!
So if you see yourself pioneering the technologies, machinery and infrastructures we use to excel in everyday life, a Masters in Engineering is perfect for you.
