Kent is known as the UK’s European university with campuses in the UK and specialist European postgraduate centres in Brussels, Paris, Athens and Rome where studies are underpinned by the specialist resources of each location. We also have a large number of academic partnerships across Europe, Asia and the United States.  Kent’s postgraduate students come from over 140 countries and range in age from 21 to their 70’s.  We welcome everyone and have a large cohort of mature students studying for a career change or to indulge a long-held passion for a subject.

Postgraduate programmes
Kent’s taught programmes and research opportunities including External PhDs, distance learning and short courses across the arts and humanities, social sciences, medical studies, and science and technology as well as taster and short courses. Our European postgraduate centres offer programmes which exploit the specific historical, social, political and cultural resources available in these exceptional cities.

£11m Postgraduate Scholarship Fund
Funding includes several hundred taught and research scholarships for UK, EU and overseas fee paying students including location and subject-specific funding, awards and discounts for alumni, and sport and music scholarships,. The majority of Kent’s programmes, including some split-site options in Brussels, Paris and Rome, are eligible for the Master’s and Doctoral Loan Schemes.

Superb locations
The University of Kent has seven exceptional study locations: the UK campuses in Canterbury and Medway and specialist centres in Tonbridge, Brussels, Paris, Athens and Rome. Canterbury, Medway and Tonbridge are close to London with easy access by road and high-speed train and there are fast travel links to mainland Europe, including Paris and Brussels, by air, Eurostar or ferry.

Brussels School of International Studies
Kent is the only UK university to have a postgraduate centre in ‘the capital of Europe’, home to major international organisations such as the EU and NATO and offers postgraduate programmes taught by world-leading academics and experienced practitioners.

Paris School of Arts and Culture
Spending either a full year or a term studying in the heart of this beautiful and historic city, teaching is enhanced by your immersion in a leading centre for European culture. Reid Hall provides modern study and support facilities within 18th-century buildings in a historic corner of Montparnasse, with easy access to the city’s resources.

Rome School of Classical and Renaissance Studies
Our centre in Rome combines our specialist teaching and research in classical and archaeological studies with the facilities of the American University of Rome and the cultural and learning opportunities the city offers.

Athens: Combine the worlds of Heritage and Business
Kent’s dual-award MA in Heritage Management, combining archaeology and business is taught in partnership with the Athens University of Economics and Business in Elefsina, – one of most important archaeological religious sites in the world.

In addition you are invited to attend general open day/events in Canterbury, Medway Brussels and Paris which we hold throughout the year.  Schools also run their own Postgraduate Events throughout the year.

In addition, visitors are always welcome at our Canterbury and Medway campuses and information for a self-guided tour is available from visitor reception.
