Humanities, Languages and Social Science is part of the wider Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Manchester Metropolitan University; the largest faculty in the University with over 10,500 students studying Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences and Fashion courses and home to several areas of world-leading and internationally excellent research.

MA English Studies is a flexible and challenging master’s course, delivered by a team of tutors with internationally recognised academic expertise. The course offers three different routes where students can build their own bespoke programme.

This course offers a flexible, challenging master’s experience. You can choose either a specialist pathway or pursue a general history route, selecting from a diverse range of units and independent study.

This course is designed to equip you with the skills essential for a career in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). The programme combines the study of theories, methods and materials with a detailed analysis of language and an awareness of practical research methods.

Our MA Urban Policy and Analytics course focuses on different theoretical and empirical approaches to understanding urban governance, policy and data analysis for policy, and provides students with analytical skills to undertake research in urban studies.
