Summary
UCAS Code Secondary Religious Education (PGCE): 2X6H
Entirely in keeping with the new curriculum and its four purposes, our RE pathway seeks to explore the complex issues which surround the teaching and learning of religious education. In a world full of challenging events, ethical dilemmas and community tensions, we will support you in developing the skills needed to engage and inspire young people in these debates.
You will learn how to apply a variety of pedagogical approaches to a variety of teaching and learning contexts, thus providing an inclusive learning environment for all.
The new Areas of Learning and Experience underpin the pathway, and you will have significant opportunities to work in collaboration with students from other subject areas, particularly those under the umbrella of the Humanities.
This will allow you to develop a collegial and collaborative approach to teaching and learning.
The secondary RE programme prepares you to teach across the secondary age-range, including the GSCE and A level examination groups.
