Study for your postgraduate degree at the Welsh University of the Year 2019
Study with us at Swansea University and you’ll become a valued member of our welcoming postgraduate community of over 2,500 students. Here’s just a few reasons why you should join us in Swansea for your postgraduate degree...

1. Courses tailored to your interests

Whether you’re looking to study for a master’s, PhD or other postgraduate qualification, we offer a wide range of courses in:

2. Award-winning postgraduate study
We’ve been delivering outstanding postgraduate study since 1920, a tradition we’re proud to continue today. We are the Welsh University of the Year, runner-up for the UK University of the Year title and a UK top 30 university (The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2019), and we’ve also been shortlisted for the Postgraduate category at the WhatUni Student Choice Awards 2019.

All of our postgraduate programmes are guided by internationally recognised research, and delivered by our team of talented academics from across the globe. You can be sure that you’ll receive an outstanding study experience, with Swansea being awarded the highest 5 Star rating for Teaching Excellence (QS Stars Ratings).

3. Enhancing your future career prospects
We recognise that employability skills are an essential part of all postgraduate programmes in an increasingly competitive jobs market. That’s why our students have the opportunity to carry out industry-linked research projects and undertake work placements with partner organisations such as Rolls-Royce, Airbus, the NHS and IBM.

You’ll also be able to take part in a range of short and summer work programmes in destinations such as China, India, North America, Japan, Africa, Australasia and Europe. The Swansea Employability Academy will be on hand throughout your studies to help develop your skills in CV writing, job searching and interview techniques.

4. Scholarships and funding to support your studies
We understand that the cost of your studies is one of the most important factors when deciding on a university for your postgraduate degree. Last year, we offered over £10 million in postgraduate scholarships, providing funding for a range of subject areas and qualifications.

Postgraduate funding is also available for UK/EU students starting eligible master’s programmes at Swansea. English students can borrow up to £10,906 to cover the cost of their master’s studies, whilst Welsh students may be able to receive up to £17,000 in repayable loans and non-repayable grants.  If you’re an English, Welsh or EU student looking to undertake a PhD level course with us, you may be able to borrow up to £25,700 towards the cost of your doctoral studies. Find out more on our postgraduate loans webpages.

Swansea has recently been named the UK’s third most affordable university town (TotallyMoney.com). With affordable housing options and a low cost of living, you’ll find it easy to make your money stretch a little further.
