MA Interior and Spatial Design at Chelsea College of Arts explores conceptual spatial concerns and notions of how we inhabit space. This is an area of study that's distinct from but still complementary to architecture.
The course allows you to look at interior and spatial design from either a research or professional practice point of view or combination of both.
What you can expect:
• To address issues about how we inhabit space
• To develop sensibilities about intervening into existing architectural structures or situations
• To engage with the language of architecture and the experiential aspects of what it is to inhabit and interact with our spatial environment. This might be the functional design of built structures, fine art installations, furniture, computer animation or film
• To have access to Chelsea's shared workshops. These include ceramics, casting, laser cutting, photography, an audio-visual editing suite, metal and woodwork.
