Course overview - This part-time master’s award in Professional Practice in Education offers you a career-enhancing and attractive way of supporting and accrediting your Continuous Personal and Professional Development (CPPD) in Education. The emphasis is on flexibility, collegiality, collaboration, with a focus on practice and a critical approach to professionalism, underpinned by applied research.
- The MEd uses a suite of modules delivered across three semesters, at the University’s Preston Campus and in selected partner colleges. It is linked to a range of professional development awards providing flexible access and progression.

Entry requirements | This Masters award is a taught award linked to continuing professional development with a focus on practitioner research. Participants on the in-house programme will normally be employed by the University of Central Lancashire or in an associated HEI or college of FE and will have demonstrated ability to cope with Master’s level study either through APEL or previous qualifications, eg PG Certificate. Access to the programme will be open to new participants with previous appropriate PG Diploma or PG Certificates from other institutions but degree and extent of APL/credits will be agreed on an individual case by case basis. Entry requirements onto the PG Diploma without a PG certificate will include for example:- First degree or equivalent professional qualification plus related work experience. Plus in both cases the recommendation of line manager. If you do not meet either of these requirements, you will still be welcome to apply on confirmation of ability to cope with Masters level study as a result of completing a diagnostic activity, presentation of a portfolio, or extended CV and interview. Good command of written and spoken English. Links with an educational institution for practitioner research and work based learning. |
