This course allows you to get ahead in this ever-changing and expanding field. We help you to think about technology and the ways it can be effectively implemented, with cutting-edge facilities and expert tutelage. You'll graduate ready for an exciting position in the IT industry. This course offers a two year work experience route including a placement of up to 12 months. How you learn On a flexible course of 12-36 months, you'll explore how IT supports business, and how business can improve through IT. With a mixture of practical and theoretical studies, you'll gain advanced knowledge and solid grounding for your future career; the course doesn't teach either pure computer science, business or theory - each module focusses on the real-world applicability of its teaching.

There are opportunities to study abroad at one of our partner universities with the possibility of funding through the Erasmus programme (subject to the UK’s continued participation in the Erasmus programme following the Brexit transition period). Applied learning Live projects

You will have the opportunity to work on real, work-based projects supplied by an external company or emulated industry case studies. You will utilise your skills and knowledge from earlier studies of topics such as data integration, statistical modelling, big data and distributed systems, to situations of genuine complexity.

Networking opportunities

The teaching team make use of their research and industry connections to facilitate the inclusion of real work scenarios and case studies within the teaching materials of many of the modules.

Work Placement

You will have the opportunity to go on a work placement for up to 12 months. You are supported in finding placements and can apply for a vacancy as you would like a job. There are dedicated sessions to support you in CV writing, interview skills and job applications.

The placement starts during the summer of your second year and most are paid. Apply for the placement route by selecting the two year course length.
