Currently applications for the September intake of this course are only open to home students.
This course is moving into one of our new buildings at City campus. Teaching will mainly be delivered at our Collegiate campus until December 2024 while we get our new facilities ready. From January 2025 you will study in brand new facilities at City campus.

Explore the links between policy, evidence and practice and address key questions in healthcare.

Learn how successful management requires development of critical approaches to theory, practice, and outcome measurement.

Develop knowledge in key competencies necessary to join the UK Voluntary Register for Public Health specialists.
If you work or want to work at an operational, managerial or strategic level in public health, this course is ideal. If you currently work in a public health role you can gain academic credit for work based learning in the Public Health Practice elective.

Networking opportunities Beyond the course, you have access to a wide range of developmental and professional events in the department and the wider university as well as volunteering and employment agencies. In addition, you're also supported to find work experience and are well supported by a comprehensive suite of career management services including interview training and networking opportunities.
Applied learning
Rather than a traditional lecture and seminar format, a variety of learning and teaching methods are used with an emphasis on peer learning and class participation. The course is taught by relatively small team and draws on guest speakers from a range of public health roles which may include GPs, Community Health Workers, policy makers and public health practitioners.
