The MA in International Relations is concerned with analysing the key issues and concepts in world politics. The programme will provide you with a sophisticated theoretical and applied understanding of international relations including areas of expertise such as war and security, globalisation and development, and US foreign policy. The programme enables you to develop a set of analytical skills and knowledge that will allow you to think, talk and write critically about contemporary international issues, as well as building a firm foundation for further study.
Students on this programme benefit from an integrated and flexible approach when it comes to teaching. The programme will be delivered through a combination of workshops, guest lectures and seminars throughout the year at the University of London Institute in Paris Campus.
The programme is taught by experienced Queen Mary academics who are leaders in their field. These intensive sessions will give you the opportunity to network with your peers and academics and experience life on campus at the University of London Institute in Paris. You will play an active part in your acquisition of skills and knowledge. Teaching is entirely by small group seminars. The seminars are designed to generate informed discussion around set topics, and may involve student presentations, group exercise and role-play as well as open discussion. All these take place in University of London Institute at Paris. All seminars are led by a faculty member of the School of Politics and International Relations. We take pride in the close and collegial working relationship we have with our students. You are assigned an Academic Adviser who will guide you in academic matters throughout your study at QMUL
