Summary

Dental Public Health focuses on preventing oral diseases and improving the oral health of populations. Addressing the major oral health issues and the global challenges facing dental care systems in the current political economy requires strategic planning, evidence-informed decision-making and strong public health leadership.

The new online Dental Public Health, Policy and Leadership Postgraduate Certificate aims to give students a clear understanding of the principles and practice of Dental Public Health using interactive and innovative teaching methods that cover foundational topics.

The Dental Public Health, Policy and Leadership Postgraduate Diploma builds on the certificate course by including four additional modules that allow students to develop “real world” transferrable public health skills.

Students taking the Dental Public Health, Policy and Leadership MSc degree will complete the seven core modules from the Postgraduate Diploma course and select one of four MSc modules to gain advanced or more specialised skills and knowledge.

MSc students will also complete a research dissertation in the second year of their programme based on their own research interests (up to 20,000 word written report).
