Summary

The programme provides a sound basis for medical and dental practitioners who aspire to manage complex facial injuries from either background.

This part-time, distance learning MSc which runs over a two-year period allows longitudinal academic support enabling the practitioner to develop their understanding of the subject and to apply this to their own practice. The Masters in Craniofacial Trauma and Reconstruction provides a structured distance learning programme to support both education and clinical practice surgeons working in this field.

The programme is suitable for both junior and senior trainees from senior house officer level two senior higher surgical trainee. The programme is designed to support trainees in oral surgery, oral and maxillofacial surgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery, craniofacial surgery, ophthalmology, ENT, and neurosurgery who aspire to manage complex facial injuries.

The programme is particularly suitable for students who are undertaking structured surgical training and wish a robust framework to develop true multidisciplinary skills.
