University of Strathclyde
The University of Strathclyde is now Scotland’s third largest university, and one of the largest in the UK, with a world-wide reputation for its teaching and research. We comprise five faculties – Arts and Social Studies, Business, Education, Engineering and Science – and have a total student population of around 14,000. Around 2500 students are at postgraduate level, and a high proportion of the student population is aged 21 years or over. Currently, Strathclyde has over 100,000 alumni around the globe.
Located in Glasgow, Strathclyde Business School is one of the largest institutions of its kind in Europe, with around 200 academic staff and more than 3000 full-time students (undergraduate and postgraduate). The 11 subject departments and specialist units collaborate to provide a dynamic, fully-rounded and varied programme of specialist and cross-disciplinary postgraduate courses.
Strathclyde is a triple accredited business school: one of only 77 in the world (2016) and the only business school in Scotland to be triple accredited, holding accreditation from the international bodies, AMBA, AACSB and EQUIS.
Strathclyde is an entrepreneurial and innovative university – SBS is home to the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship - and students can also access the services of the Strathclyde Entrepreneurial Network (SEN) which supports students, graduates and postgraduates with interests in entrepreneurship and new venture creation.
We are strongly international in our outlook. We have long-standing and established links with universities across the world. Our partner institutions include universities in Australia, Canada, Europe, Asia, and the USA, and operate eight international centres offering the MBA and other programmes.
Strathclyde Business School’s research was judged by the most recent UK Research Assessment Exercise to be amongst the best in the UK, placing SBS as one of a handful of business schools internationally recognised for dynamic, innovative and influential perspectives on the problems confronting business and society today.
Strathclyde Business School has a strong reputation for effective working with business, industry and the public sector and our vision is to attain the highest levels of knowledge exchange through applied projects, consultancy and action research with a variety of government and trade unions.
Scotland is one of Europe’s most unique destinations, famed for its history, castles, scenery, lively cities, warm hospitality and its traditions. Glasgow is Scotland’s biggest city but its position and excellent transport links mean all other parts of the country are easy and quick to access. A stunning city in its own right, Glasgow is just minutes from some of the most beautiful parts of the country – the rugged west coast, Loch Lomond and Burns country are all on our doorstep.
