About the IOE
Working across education, culture, psychology and social science, we create lasting and evolving change in a real-world context. We embrace cross-pollination, collaboration and excellence to create a future that is inclusive and just. We do this through world-leading education, research and enterprise, and have been ranked number one for education worldwide every year since 2014 in the QS World University Rankings.
IOE is home to 6 academic departments and over 30 centres:
We offer PGCEs in Early Years, Primary, Secondary and Further Education. Our unique gradual approach, carefully chosen placements and the constant support from our lecturers, tutors and school mentors will allow you to start teaching in just one year.
Our programmes have been carefully designed so that you have the time and space to develop the expertise to manage, guide and inspire the children and young people you teach. Every IOE PGCE student is supported by a personal tutor who shares your passion for your subject and phase. They visit you on your teaching placements and meet in person with you throughout the year. You will also have a mentor to support you through each of your placements.
