Summary
This programme makes extensive use of the knowledge and expertise from our well established Communications and Signal Processing Research Group. The course aims to provide students with a good understanding of the techniques and issues in modern communications systems, with an emphasis on wireless and Internet communications. It provides students with: a balanced picture of modern communications technology and networks; a sound theoretical and practical knowledge of radio communication techniques, signal processing, network protocols, and the design and optimisation of communication networks; ability to learn new techniques as they are developed; experience of the use of industry standard tools. As well as this MSc in Communications Engineering the department offers an MSc by Research, in which students can gain an MSc through doing a year long research project.
