Summary

This is an innovative programme designed to help create the sport and exercise psychologists of the future. This course seeks to develop evidence-based practitioners who are active problem-solvers and can provide the best psychological solutions to the challenges they encounter. The course has been developed for individuals who possess Graduate Basis for Chartership (GBC) with the British Psychological Society (BPS). The programme is accredited by the BPS, and therefore provides the first stage in a training process towards becoming a Chartered Sport and Exercise Psychologist.

MSc Applied Sport Psychology provides students with the opportunity to extend their theoretical understanding of sport and exercise psychology within a supportive student-centred environment.

This programme draws on the strengths of a research-active sport and exercise psychology team to provide students with an academic programme that supports students' career aspirations of working as a sport and exercise psychologist.
