Summary
Located in the heart of London, the School of Social Sciences has an active research culture to which our well-established doctoral research programme makes a vital contribution.
The School incorporates well-established research programmes in politics and international relations, psychology, sociology and criminology and is home to the Centre for the Study of Democracy. Research in the School across these fields has an international reputation for excellence, as was confirmed by the 2014 Research Excellence Framework.

Entry requirements | Applicants should have a minimum classification of 2.1 in their first degree or equivalent and preferably a master's degree (or masters degree pending). Applicants whose first degree has not been studied in English should have IELTS 6.5 overall and 6.0 in all elements. Applicants need to submit a research proposal of 2,000–3,500 words. It should include a title of proposed research, identify discipline and formulate research questions clearly. It should also include proposed research methodology and plan of work and time schedule. References are normally required and if not provided with your application will be requested at a later date. |
