Summary
The programme will provide advanced training in essential elements of an economics Master's degree (microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics and mathematical economics) plus a range of specialist options that reflect the interests of the staff in the department. It is constructed along the lines expected of a leading research-led economics department, and offers a good foundation in the core, whilst also giving students the opportunity to select topics from the options useful for future study or employment. The programme includes a summer dissertation on a topic of choice. The summer dissertation is generally the 1st building block of a PhD thesis for those students wishing to pursue their academic career further at PhD level.
