This master's covers the core subjects of Maritime Engineering Science for both the design and analysis of marine craft and structures within the marine environment. You can choose from five themes, each covers a broad context alongside an in-depth specialisation of your choice.
This course is ideal if you are a graduate or professional with an engineering, scientific or mathematical background, and want to pursue a career in the maritime sector. Specialist knowledge of the discipline isn't essential, as we'll provide you with an introductory module to the fundamentals of Ship Science.

You’ll need a 2:1 degree in: marine engineering; naval architecture; ship science; aerospace engineering; mechanical engineering; general engineering; electrical engineering; physics; mathematics. If you don't have the exact entry requirements, but you have significant work experience in this sector we’ll assess your relevant professional experience, your subject knowledge and your aptitude for learning. Your application will be considered on individual merit and you may be asked to attend an interview. English Language Requirements: All applicants must demonstrate they possess at least a minimum standard of English language proficiency: Band B, IELTS 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 5.5 in all components.
