Do you want to: - explore the meaning of Christian teaching?

Systematic and philosophical theology looks at claims about: - God

  • creation and salvation

  • the nature of the Church

  • human identity and ethics

  • and many other ideas at the heart of Christian theology

In particular you will examine: - the Christian theological tradition from the early church to the present

  • Christianity's engagement with philosophy

  • the relationship between faith and reason

  • the task of theology in the twenty-first century

Many students are already established in their careers when they begin this degree, and undertake the programme for professional enhancement and enrichment. Others pursue it for reasons of personal interest.

It is also ideal preparation for a PhD, allowing you to develop knowledge and research skills essential to higher level study.

This is a distance learning course, fully supported by online resources, forums and tutorials. You will have full access to the University of Nottingham's library systems and resources.
