This course is designed to provide instruction and training in the most recent developments in the equipment and systems used to interface and control renewable and sustainable energy systems. The course gives students an advanced and comprehensive coverage of the specialist engineering skills required by an engineer working in electrical technology for renewable and sustainable energy systems. The course provides a basis for a range of students wanting to engage in further study. This includes working engineers wishing to update their knowledge in this area or those students/engineers who wish to go on to do research e.g. to study for a PhD. It is also suitable for 1st degree students who wish to enhance their training to Master's degree level before embarking on a career in industry.

A high 2.2 (or international equivalent) in electrical engineering or other electrical engineering related subject. English language requirements: IELTS: 6.0 (with no less than 5.5 in any element).
Assessment usually performed via formal examinations and coursework.
Example modules includes: Advanced Control System Design; Combined Heat and Power Systems; Electrical Machines, Drive systems and Applications; Energy Storage; Power Electronic Applications and Control; Renewable Energy Technology.
