Summary

**Overview**
The MSc programme in Sustainable Environmental Design in Architecture (SEDA) has been specifically designed to provide expertise for graduates and professionals who seek to enhance their knowledge of the increasingly key area of sustainable built environments in a changing climate.
The MSc SEDA programme will help develop both practical skills in environmental assessment and a deeper understanding of climate-sensitive design, designing for climate change, sustainable architecture and computer modelling of sustainable environments.

Taught by our expert researchers, the programme is for graduates and professionals wanting to learn about the increasingly key area of sustainable design.

You will develop skills in the use of computer environmental modelling software and the application of that software to sustainable environmental design via coursework assignments. You will also acquire specific analytical skills in the application of both quantitative and qualitative research methods and generic research skills such as reflective learning, literature reviewing and dissertation writing.

You can personalise your programme by choosing from specialist option modules that reflect the high quality research expertise in the School. We offer options that include:
- architectural theory

- low and zero carbon energy systems

- parametric design and fabrication

- sustainable construction and management.

Covering academic and practical issues, the MSc SEDA programme is an excellent preparation for specialist roles within academic research, architectural practice and engineering consultancies.

**Career prospects**
Students who successfully complete a Higher Degree go on to interesting and rewarding careers in architecture, the wider construction industry, management, higher education, the arts and conservation and many other specialisms to be found in the arts, architecture and the built environment.
