Summary

This MEd course is suitable for all professionals working in an educational setting, whether you work as a teacher or in a similar developmental role. You'll gain the knowledge and understanding, skills, attributes, and values necessary to enhance your professional practice.

You will develop skills in reflective practice that will help you to critically engage with educational theory, research, policy, and other professional issues.

You will have opportunities to be involved in inter-professional collaboration, following interests in a specific area of education, such as international education or educational leadership.

We encourage you to bring your own experiences and areas of interest to your studies, choosing the focus of your work in each module to fit with your professional interests and responsibilities.

You will be given a framework to help you reflect critically on your professional development and your current practice, and formulate an appropriate action plan to inform your studies.

You will also conduct research in a professional field, following the stages of the academic research process from the problem or question through to the presentation of findings. You will also learn more about how education and curriculum is shaped by global influences.

This course will not provide you with a teaching qualification.
