Become a specialist historian in the field of African history and the African Diaspora history and the African Diaspora The MRes in the History of Africa and the African Diaspora is a unique and exciting programme, and the first of its kind to be delivered completely online.
You will explore the historical relationships between Africa and its diaspora in the modern period by conducting your own supervised research in this important field.
You will be encouraged to critically re-evaluate existing narratives that have marginalised the study of the African diaspora, especially in Britain, and often totally separated the history of Africa from that of its diaspora.
On this course you will: - Study a unique and rewarding subject matter, exploring the historical relationships between Africa and its diaspora in the modern period.

Develop into a specialist historian with the ability to carry out your own supervised research, whilst honing your analytical and written skills. Many of our students go on to do a MPhil/PhD research degree.
