The University of Chichester is situated in the beautiful county of West Sussex. Our heritage dates back to the 19th Century, when Bishop Otter College was established in 1839. Previously a teaching college, Chichester then became a university.
The University has two campuses, Bishop Otter Campus in Chichester which is a 10-minute walk from the city centre, and the Bognor Regis Campus which is located 915 steps from an award-winning beach. Both campuses have excellent public transport links. Our campuses host buildings that are both historic and modern, specialist and technologically innovative, all set in beautifully tended gardens.
Each year our students work alongside our lecturers to contribute to and conduct world-changing research. In the most recent government assessment of university research, the Research Excellence Framework (REF), 86% of our research was rated as internationally renowned with 12% being classified as world leading.
Postgraduate study can open many doors. Our Careers and Employability team are committed to helping you achieve your ambitions. The team of professionally-qualified careers consultants help with searching for jobs, choosing a career, completing applications and even sharpening your CV and LinkedIn profile.
We have invested over £42 million on estates, facilities and equipment on both our campuses since 2016. In the last five years we have added a large multi-purpose sports dome, student support facilities, a new library, music block and academic building.
September 2018 saw the official royal opening of our Tech Park, a state-of-the-art Engineering and Creative & Digital Technology facility which cost £35 million.
We offer a range of options and full support in choosing the right combination for you. All of our Halls of Residence are professionally managed, secure and supported by our team 24/7. Where possible you will share with other postgraduate or mature students and if you’d rather live in private rented accommodation we can also assist you in your search.
