The MA Education (Social Justice) pathway is designed for those who want to tackle the urgent issues that challenge education systems across the globe, including inequity, marginalisation, exclusion and displacement.

On the MA Education (Social Justice) pathway, you will engage with cutting-edge research and explore key sociological, philosophical and political debates pertaining to power, equity and citizenship, including: cosmopolitanism, globalisation, human rights, migration, displacement, racism, xenophobia, structural inequity, and alternative forms of education as a form of agency, activism and resistance.

The MA Education (Social Justice) pathway has close links with the research-active Department of Education and Social Justice and you can expect high quality teaching from leading experts in policy analysis, critical theory and impacting social change.

This pathway attracts a diversity of students from a broad range of education-focused disciplinary backgrounds. These include those who are teachers, education leaders, policy makers, social workers, youth and community support workers, those working in NGOs and in the justice system, and graduates of social science programmes more broadly, who wish to pursue a career in social justice and make an impact in society.
