Our new MSc AI and Sustainable Development programme offers an interdisciplinary learning experience that explores using artificial intelligence to tackle key social issues such as poverty, hunger, and inequality.

Who is this course for? This programme is for those who are interested in exploring the intersection of AI and sustainable development, learning how to use Artificial Intelligence and data science to inform decisions around global sustainability. This programme is for those from a social science academic background (or a related discipline) who can evidence having studied at least one quantitative module during their Bachelor’s degree.

Entry requirements | A minimum of an upper second-class Bachelor's degree in social science (or a related discipline) from a UK university; or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard. All applicants must provide evidence of successfully completing at least one advanced module in quantitative methods, statistics, data science or econometrics during their Bachelor's degree. Relevant practical or professional experience in a related area may also be taken into account. This could include having worked for at least two years in a public sector organisation, think tank, international organisation, public policy consulting role, or in a data science position. The key criteria are having applicable work experience of two or more years duration in a field connected to public policy or data science. Applicants with lower mathematics and statistics pre-requisites will be considered, and if successful, will be required to pass an intensive on-campus Mathematics and Statistics Bootcamp before beginning the programme. International Students: IELTS 6.5 (no less that 6.0 in any band) or equivalent. |
