Summary
The deadline to apply for this RQF Level 7 course is **1st November 2022**. The deadline for receipt of Orchestral Conducting first-round video recordings is 15 November. The Academy’s postgraduate conducting course is internationally recognised as one of the foremost programmes for training conductors. Our students have many opportunities to work with talented players and singers in a variety of settings, from two-piano workshops and intimate chamber ensembles to full symphony orchestra. Academy conductors work in a friendly, collaborative and focused environment. The CPD diploma's course contents can be flexible, particularly in terms two and three, during which it can be shaped and directed, in consultation with the Head of Conducting to suit the applicant and their specific development goals. We understand that applicants will have a variety of professional backgrounds and prior experiences (and flexibility will be given, wherever possible in terms of external and internal opportunities) but it is essential that applicants will be comfortable studying in a class setting where the other students may be considerably younger, as this is where the majority of the practical training takes place. In our experience, the combination of experienced professional and younger Master's students is mutually beneficial. Owing to the individual and specialised nature of this CPD course, it is strongly recommended that anyone interested in applying should contact the Head of Conducting to discuss their situation and the course possibilities in advance.
Level | RQF Level 6 |
---|---|
Entry requirements | Evidence of professional work as a conductor and a Master’s qualification or equivalent (in a relevant subject) but the Academy welcomes applications from students who may not meet the normal requirements (https://www.ram.ac.uk/study/next-step/entry-requirements). |
Location | Main Site Marylebone Road London NW1 5HT |
