Hearing aid audiology has grown rapidly as a professional health service in recent years. It’s a rewarding career where you help individuals with hearing loss get the hearing aids they need to improve their everyday quality of life.
This course is aimed at professionals already in the healthcare workplace. It will equip you with the skills and knowledge that you need to move into a career as a hearing aid audiologist in the NHS and a hearing aid dispenser in the private sector. It is the only course of its type in Scotland.

This programme is only available to those applicants who are in full time employment in this field and must be sponsored by an employer (Registered Hearing Aid Dispenser) or National Health Service (NHS) and must provide us with a reference from a Registered Hearing Aid Audiologist (RHAD) or equivalent stating supervisory support available at your work place and access to hearing impaired clients.
Usually have achieved at least five 5 Nat 5s at grade C or above (preferred subjects English, Science, Mathematics). Ideally students will also have achieved at least three passes at Higher (preferred subjects English, Science, Mathematics) and two at Nat 5 in other subjects. Applications from potential entrants who have not achieved these qualifications, but are able to demonstrate relevant experience, will still be considered.
