Student services and Facilities
Our friendly and modern campus offers traditional lecture theatres, smaller seminar-style classrooms, flexible space for individual study and group work, and specific facilities for our health sciences and arts courses. The campus houses a Students’ Union, Sports facilities and student residences. The Learning Resource Centre is open 24/7 and forms the heart of the campus. It contains resources and facilities which are an essential support to learning and teaching.
We offer pre and post-entry help and advice on finance, childcare, and disability issues and a Counselling Service. The Careers and Employability Centre is a one-stop shop for information, advice and guidance on all matters related to careers.
We also offer Pre-Sessional English courses which are designed to prepare non-native speakers of English for university study in Britain.
Student life and the local area
QMU is located on the east of Edinburgh, by Musselburgh. Edinburgh city centre is only six minutes by train and the beach and countryside are close by too.
Many students choose the convenience of staying on campus in our student accommodation - only two minutes’ walk from the main academic building, Students’ Union and sports facilities. The safe living environment includes all-inclusive rents (electricity and heating bills, basic contents insurance, wi-fi and 24/7 security). The local vicinity is well served by supermarkets and an outdoor retails complex is only a short walk away.
