Studying at postgraduate level at QMU
QMU offers a friendly and supportive community environment where our thoroughly relevant teaching and research is designed to meet the changing needs of students, employers and society.

QMU has widely recognised expertise in health & rehabilitation, sustainable business and creativity & culture. All our postgraduate courses aim to be professionally and socially relevant to the world we live in and are focused on developing and enhancing your skills and career options. Our postgraduate courses can help you climb the career ladder in your current profession, allow you to change profession, or can be the foundation for an academic career.

We offer a wide range of postgraduate courses in the areas of business, management and enterprise, occupational and arts therapies, health professions, creativity and culture, education, global health and public relations.

QMU’s academic staff have close links with industry, professional bodies, governmental and non-governmental agencies and are actively involved in research. This ensures that we’re listening and responsive to the needs of employers and that our teaching, and your skills, are up to date and relevant.

Funding and scholarships
There are a number of postgraduate funding and scholarship opportunities for UK, EU and international students.

Student services and Facilities
Our friendly modern campus offers traditional lecture theatres, smaller seminar-style classrooms, and specific facilities for our Health Sciences and Arts courses. The campus houses a Students’ Union, Sports facilities and modern student residences. Our Learning Resource Centre is open 24/7 and forms the heart of our campus. It contains resources and facilities which are an essential support to your learning and teaching.

We offer pre and post-entry help and advice on finance, childcare, and disability issues and a Counselling Service. The Careers and Employability Centre is your one-stop shop for information, advice and guidance on all matters related to your career.

We also offer Pre-Sessional English courses which are designed to prepare non-native speakers of English for university study in Britain.

Student life and the local area
Many students choose the convenience of staying on campus in our student accommodation: you are only two minutes’ walk from the main academic building, SU and sports facilities. The safe living environment includes all-inclusive rents (electricity and heating bills, basic contents insurance, wi-fi and 24/7 security).

The local vicinity is well served by supermarkets and an outdoor retails complex is only a short walk away. QMU is located on the east of Edinburgh, by Musselburgh. Edinburgh city centre is only six minutes by train and the beach and countryside are close by too.
