Train to scout and manage the perfect location for your productions.
Could you find the next iconic shooting location to bring fictional places like Westeros or Hobbiton to life?
This course - created due to industry demand - is designed to thoroughly train you in Location Management, and all the vital roles that lie within it.
The Locations Department consists of three primary roles: Location Manager, Assistant Location Manager and Location Scout. They work closely with directors, producers, cinematographers, assistant directors and designers, providing all the information and support necessary for a successful location shoot from initial brief, finding ideal locations for the shoot, negotiating fees, terms and conditions as well as managing locations during the production and filming periods to wrap and reinstatement.
We’ll ensure that you leave the course with all the relevant practical experience - including working with the latest on-set COVID protocols - and some valuable contacts for starting out in the professional world.
**Please note that the blended model of the course that is run from the NFTS Scotland hub consists of a twelve week part-time training period where you are required to attend weekly online sessions. This will be followed by a three month period during which you will need to be available to undertake the placement/s required. This will not be full-time.**
