More about this course Explore human rights from an international, socio-economic and political perspective. Plus, have the opportunity to learn about the historic development of human rights and also explore current issues such as environmental social justice.
These courses build your understanding of legal concepts that govern individual and collective rights and responsibilities, including the constraints the state may place on a person’s human rights.
Designed to provide an in-depth investigation into the legal aspects affecting human rights, you’ll learn about the legal framework of these rights, the concept of social justice and the need for mutual human respect on a global and local scale.
These courses are suitable if you’re a legal professional looking to specialise in human rights or a non-legal professional such as a charity worker, policy advisor, environmentalist, journalist, or someone working in international relations who needs an understanding of the human rights legal framework.
Your tutors and lecturers will have backgrounds in both academia and legal practice. Plus, these courses are delivered online, so you’ll be able to study from anywhere in the world.
It’s possible for you to study a postgraduate diploma (PG Dip) and a postgraduate certificate (PG Cert) version of this course. These qualifications do not hold the same academic weighting as a Master of Laws degree (LLM), but can be viewed as a professional development style course for people already working in the industry.
