Liverpool Hope University is one of the country’s leading provider of ITE. The PGCE programme is a postgraduate qualification aimed at high quality, aspirational and inspirational graduates wishing to pursue a career in secondary teaching.
It is an intensive, demanding yet incredibly rewarding programme, that runs from September through to late June. Specialist tutors are dedicated to supporting our trainees throughout, working closely with the highly skilled and experienced mentors in our partner schools.

An Undergraduate Honours Degree 2:1 or above, incorporating at least 50% subject related
GCSE Grade C or above in English and Mathematics (Grade 4 or above in the new grading system). These can be pending but required before enrolment
Relevant experience in a school setting is beneficial for your application, but not essential.
Offers will be subject to a successful interview, as well as a Health Check Statement and an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (formally the Criminal Records Bureau – CRB).
It is a government requirement that you take the numeracy and literacy skills tests as part of the application process. You must ensure you have passed them both before the start of the course, please go to the Department of Education website for further details.
