This part-time, web-based programme aims to provide flexibility so that you can study alongside your existing work and personal commitments.
We aim to equip teachers with up-to-date knowledge and skills that will enable them to work in a variety of language teaching contexts. Some experience is required to take this programme; for example, it is ideal for English language teachers who have two or more years’ experience in the field.
You will be able to choose from a range of module topics depending on your academic and work interests. We aim to use the latest pedagogical principles in distance education and web-based learning and teaching, and you will have the opportunity to access a variety of technological tools to enhance your learning experience.

2:1 Hons degree (UK or equivalent) in a language/linguistics-related degree or one with a number of language/linguistics-related subjects.

This web-based programme is designed for English language teachers with at least 2 years’ experience in the field. In the course students work together with fellow students from different parts of the world in a supportive online learning environment. The programme develops understanding of classroom practice and allows students to focus both their coursework and dissertation on issues in their own educational context.

An upper 2nd Class Honours degree, or its equivalent, plus 2 years full-time teaching experience. IELTS: 6.5 (with at least 6.0 in listening and speaking and at least 6.5 in reading and writing) or equivalent.
