Summary
Our aim in training is to strike a balance between the interests of the individual trainee, formal professional training requirements, academic requirements appropriate for a doctoral level qualification, and the broader and developing needs of a clinical psychologist within the National Health Service. Placements, academic assignments and detailed research supervision are spread across the 3 years of training and these provide an excellent grounding for individual development. Support is extensive across all aspects of the programme, with innovative placements, a strong publication culture and the opportunity to be involved in all parts of the programme’s development being some of the outstanding features of this training experience.
