Summary
On this Master of Public Health degree, you will learn skills to make a positive difference to the physical, social and mental health outcomes and wellbeing of people within and across local, regional, national, and international populations.
With an emphasis on reducing health inequalities, you will develop the ability to interpret and understand key areas of health and social research, and how it can be used to inform policy and improve public health. You will be encouraged to view public health as a collective responsibility, across organisations and individuals, and will learn to have wider considerations than the remit of health services to include education and the environment.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN ON THIS MPH The course content for this MPH distance learning degree is aligned with internationally recognised competency frameworks including the UK Public Health Skill and Knowledge Framework, and the World Health Organisation ASPHER Core Competency Framework for Public Health in the European Region.

Entry requirements | A 2:2 undergraduate degree or a UK Master’s degree (or international equivalent). Applicants with qualifications below this level may be considered if they can provide evidence which demonstrates a minimum of two years’ appropriate work experience. The evidence will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. In addition, applicants must also have passed GCSE Maths (minimum grade C or 4) and pass a numeracy test prior to starting the course. Applicants who do not hold a recognised degree will be asked to provide evidence which demonstrates a minimum of three years’ relevant experience. The evidence will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS Applicants for whom English is not a first language must provide evidence of a recognised qualification in English language. The minimum score for entry to the programme is Academic IELTS 6.5 or equivalent (no subtest score below 5.5). |
