Bangor Law School
Bangor Law School is an innovative and expanding School. Our programmes have been carefully designed to evolve with the ever-changing legal landscape, and to equip students with the legal knowledge and skills demanded by an increasingly globalised industry. Students from several countries worldwide choose Bangor Law School for its teaching expertise and diverse, multi-cultural environment.
Our small class sizes foster a lively learning environment and encourage students to engage fully with the teaching experience, with students and lecturers developing a close and supportive relationship. The academic experience is further enriched by a range of extracurricular activities which have been designed to help students enhance their career prospects.
Established in 1884, Bangor University is one of the oldest and most prestigious degree-awarding institutions in the UK. It is ranked amongst the UK top 15 for student satisfaction (NSS 2016) and student experience (Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey 2016).
In the What Uni Student Choice Awards 2016, the university was ranked no.1 in the UK for accommodation, 2nd for courses and lecturers and 3rd for student support.
Careers & Employability
Our Postgraduate programmes prepare students for careers with law firms, international organisations, local government, teaching and research. The academic experience offered by the School is enriched by activities designed to encourage students to accelerate their career development and to cultivate skills that will give them an edge in the increasingly competitive job market. These include mooting, Street Law and the Innocence Project.
Our annual Law Fair provides students with an invaluable opportunity to meet prospective employers from a variety of organisations, and to discuss their career options with experienced professionals. It also features break-out sessions focussing on different career pathways, and a mooting competition, which, in recent years, has been presided over by Sir Roderick Evans, former Presiding Judge for Wales.
According to the latest statistics from the annual Destination of Leavers from Higher Education survey, 88% of our graduates were in employment or further study six months after graduating.
