Summary

On this Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, you will develop both as a person and a professional. You will learn to apply your consultancy expertise as you translate problems into innovative solutions. This course aims to take you from the classroom through to securing boardroom impact in an end-to-end process of learning consultancy and scale value. You will leave with a completed portfolio of high-impact projects.

The MBA degree has been designed to give you the leadership skills needed to design and implement innovation and change at the strategic level of major corporations, start-ups or SMEs. It is project based and is founded on a broad base of management and business thinking that is both strategic and interdisciplinary.

Your learning will be structured around real-life scenarios, the emphasis being on building your skills and ability to create innovation and influence others. The MBA is closely modelled on real workplaces and the underlying purpose of the course is to develop you into successful business leaders who can initiate, drive and implement innovation and change within organisations.

This MBA degree offers high impact learning, that is:

  • challenge-based: your assessments will be based on real-world problems and business needs

  • leadership focused: you will gain valuable skills in problem-solving, consultancy and leading change

  • innovation centred: through projects you will learn to create value, impact and sustainable change

  • high-impact: you will deepen your knowledge through client-facing consultancy projects

  • inclusive: on this diverse and socially inclusive course you will learn to stimulate new thinking through teamwork.

You will study four modules on the course that will build and consolidate your skills, knowledge and know-how. You will learn through seminars, workshops, participation in weekly innovation teams and course salons, where the focus is on purposeful learning, sharing of ideas, expertise and creative problem-solving. The learning is challenge-based and project-driven, with a focus on interdisciplinary inquiry, research and collaborative learning, supported by the Claude Littner Business School and peer coaching.

Coaching - All learning will be project-based. You will regularly review your own work and learn how to peer-coach through receiving and giving feedback to classmates on projects. You will have a learning buddy within your team, through peer coaching and challenges, you will learn to excel under pressure.

Innovation teams - Teamwork and action learning is fundamental to this MBA. As part of an Innovation Team you will learn to collaborate on module assignments framed as consultancy projects.

Assessment - All assignments are posed as challenges that drive learning. You will start work on an assignment in the first week of each module, reviewing project challenges and module assignments throughout with your Innovation Team. Assessments include consultancy reports, presentations, a viva and a final boardroom presentation.

Deep learning - There is an iterative model behind the four modules, where the progression from module one through to module four mirrors, the thinking process of moving progressively from understanding of general principles of project design and leadership (module one) to problem definition (module two) to ideation of innovation solution (module three), to prototype and scaling (module four). This is how we define deep and iterative learning, over time.
