This course provides practising midwives and other healthcare professionals with the opportunity to explore and analyse the latest developments in midwifery knowledge and practice. You will be encouraged to evaluate your own clinical practice, as well as to clinically appraise wider issues relevant to women and families in society.

Entry requirements | You should be a qualified midwife with a Bachelor’s degree with honours from a UK University or an equivalent academic or professional qualification for international students. Please note that this course does not confer qualification as a midwife and applicants who apply for modules with a practice element must be in employment in a maternity setting. For those without a placement, following discussion with module leads may be assessed in a simulated setting in the University. Teaching will reflect upon previous clinical experience for both UK and international students. This course is suitable for qualified midwives from any field of practice who are looking to enhance their personal, professional and academic development in order to underpin existing practice; and to push the boundaries to influence future midwifery practice, education, research in the UK or internationally. |
