Overview
If you want to take your studies in technology to postgraduate level then our MRes Technology degree – a flexible postgraduate taught course, during which you'll complete a large research project – is for you.
Taught in our Faculty of Technology, this course is recognised for its research into cosmology, artificial intelligence, healthcare and computing, engineering, and mathematics.
You'll develop strong skills in research planning, and expertise in your chosen area in the field of technology. When you graduate, you'll be in a strong position to pursue a career in technology, or progress to further postgraduate research, or research related positions.
You can study this course over 1 year full-time or 2 years part-time as a campus-based learner or by distance learning.
What you'll experience
On this course, you'll:
Learn from expert staff and researchers with extensive expertise, many of whom are research active in their field
Get skilled in lab, computer and field techniques through a combination of lectures, seminars, tutorials, workshops and practical sessions
Use our multi-platform network suites and extensive laboratory facilities, including a mobile computing lab to develop Android and iOS apps, usability lab with eye tracking, analogue electronics and control engineering lab, and telecommunications and signal processing lab
Access our extensive library resources and get help with tricky problems at our Maths Cafe
Carry out an independent research project in one of the following schools: Computing, Engineering, Maths, Civil Engineering and Surveying, or Cosmology and Gravitation.
Work experience and career planning
We'll help you to identify placements, internships, voluntary roles and opportunities that will complement your studies.
