If you're ready to take your engineering experience or education into the fields of civil and structural engineering, our MSc Civil Engineering with Structural Engineering degree course is the perfect way to advance your career.

Building on your previous work and study, you'll learn about the design and construction processes in structural engineering. You'll also cover topics such as environmental management, civil engineering science, and strategic and general management. When you graduate, you'll be an expert with the skills and knowledge to plan, design, construct and manage large-scale structural engineering projects.

You'll also have satisfied the educational requirements for Further Learning for a Chartered Engineer (CEng) – so you'll be well-set to advance your civil or structural engineering career, or to pursue associated professions like construction and project management.

Accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators (ICE, ICIHT, IHE and IStructE on behalf of the Engineering Council) meeting the requirements for Further Learning for registration as a Chartered Engineer. Candidates must hold a CEng accredited BEng/BSc (Hons) undergraduate first degree to comply with full CEng registration requirements.

- Complete a Structural Engineering Design Project based on your own research. You'll conduct site visits outside the University and receive support from professionals in the industry

- Use our labs, which are equipped with the latest experimental and computational facilities used by engineers

- Have access to our extensive library resources and get help with tricky problems at our Maths Cafe

- Be able to study overseas through the ERASMUS+ exchange scheme
