Our PhD/MPhil Cancer Sciences programme enables you to undertake a research project that will improve understanding of Cancer Sciences.

Cancer sciences covers a broad area of research that aims to gain a better understanding of cancer aetiology, biology, therapy, diagnosis and monitoring.

Research is interdisciplinary, with the application of molecular and cell biology, bioinformatics, structural biology, imaging, metabolomics, medicinal and analytical chemistry to ask key questions in how cancers develop, how we can define new targets for improved therapy and how we can better diagnose and monitor both disease progression and treatment response.

We have close links with the Manchester Cancer Research Centre and the CRUK Manchester Institute.
