Summary
Develop your knowledge and skills in the discipline of psychology by gaining a British Psychological Society (BPS) accredited master’s degree with our online Psychology MSc.
The essence of this master’s is the philosophy of providing a research connected student experience combing active learning and authentic assessment. Throughout the programme you will have the opportunity to engage in action-based learning, enabling you to integrate new knowledge into your working and social environment.
To achieve a full master’s degree, you will be required to complete 180 credits. This programme is also available as a postgraduate certificate (PG Cert) which amounts to 60 credits and a postgraduate diploma (PG Dip) which amounts to 120 credits. Students who complete the PG Cert and PG Dip will have the opportunity to progress to the full master’s degree.
Students that successfully complete the Postgraduate Certificate (PG Cert) can progress onto the Mental Health Psychology (PG Dip and MSc) or Organisational Business Psychology (PG Dip and MSc) programmes. Find out more about our psychology programmes by contacting our admissions team.

Why study this subject?
Students will acquire a comprehensive knowledge of the core areas of psychology, as defined in The British Psychological Society (BPS) standards, as well as the practical skills associated to them.
The programme is ideally suited to anyone who does not hold a psychology undergraduate degree or graduated from a non-BPS accredited course.
Throughout your studies you will have the opportunity to explore topics such as social psychology, psychobiology, cognitive psychology, data analysis for psychologists and much more.
Teaching methods and style
This programme is designed to be studied wholly online and part-time. Teaching is delivered through our state-of-the-art Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), which provides students with access to all resources required for interactive study online. On this platform you will be encouraged to work collaboratively with classmates and actively read around your topic through our comprehensive library of eBooks and journals.
Career destinations
On completion of the programme, students will have a foundation in the science of Psychology. The resulting knowledge, skills and attitudes will enable students to put psychological principles into effect in a variety of settings including research, practice and the interface of applied research.
Potential career destinations include: Health, Sports, Clinical, Counselling, Occupational, Educational or Forensic Psychology.
