Study type Taught

Core modules will develop your understanding of marketing theory and practice with a global focus.

You’ll learn how organisations use marketing research to understand their market complemented by an awareness of consumer behaviour across cultures. Then you’ll examine how this information is turned into practical marketing strategies, with modules focusing on marketing communications and marketing strategy as well as the challenges in the global marketing environment.

From there, you’ll develop your knowledge by focusing on international services marketing and consider practical solutions to the problems of global distribution and supply chains. You’ll also choose two optional modules in an area that interest you. During the optional company marketing project module, you’ll have the chance to work alongside an external organisation to research and develop strategies to address their marketing problems.

In the third semester, you can apply your research skills and knowledge to a dissertation or a consultancy project which you submit by the end of the year. The consultancy projects give students the opportunity to work with a live business/marketing situation, make links with industry and gain relevant practical experience that can be exceptionally rewarding.
