Summary
Develop advanced skills in your specialist area of music and collaborate with like-minded musicians in word class facilities.
The programme is designed to allow you to pursue your interests through ambitious projects while giving you robust training in the skills and techniques you need, as well as the concepts that are at the forefront of how we think about and make music today.
The MMus programme allows specialisation and mixing of interests in a wide variety of areas, including performance (classical, popular music, jazz), composition (acoustic, electronic), music production, music education, film music, game audio, historical and critical musicology, jazz studies, global music, popular music studies, music psychology, theory and analysis.
The programme of study culminates in a large-scale project which will represent your best work to date. With time, space and support, you will build your portfolio through a series of smaller projects where you can try out new ideas, experiment with new ways of working and forge new connections for the future. You will be introduced to different ways of thinking about music and understand its significance to help you situate your own work as a rounded, knowledgeable expert.
