|Department||School of Sport and Exercise|
This course will enhance the knowledge, understanding, and critical thinking skills that are of importance to professional practitioners involved in lifestyle management within sport. Students have regular interaction with subject experts who facilitate learning opportunities via lectures, seminars, tutorials, subject-specific forums and student conferences. You will operate in a learning and assessment environment that emphasizes how theory and empirical research is applied to stimulate a solution-focused approach to the real issues relevant to lifestyle management in sport.
The Professional Practice framework is based around a blended delivery model that enables innovative and responsive teaching, learning and assessment strategies both virtually and via more traditional methods. A key feature of this approach is to ensure that the learning and teaching environment encourages you to increasingly manage your own learning, whilst recognising yourself as a member of a learning community.
The variety of connections made outside the traditional classroom, enables the team to ensure the time spent in class is meaningful, with high levels of engagement and learning. Learners bring their professional practice to bear using work/practice scenarios to facilitate learning. It is this personalized, contextual approach to delivery that promotes a connection between theory and practice, and hence a deep and relevant understanding of how to develop future expertise and to influence the wider professional sector of lifestyle management in sport.
