Summary
This programme aims to develop research-based practice amongst professionals currently working within information security. As a result of the rapid growth in both the availability of global information structures (e.g. the internet) and the number of users, information security professionals are facing major challenges in providing services that are accessible yet safe. Keeping business channels flexible and easy to use whilst guarding against e-criminals is an ongoing project.
"Despite the growing space and sophistication of cyber threats there are not enough people equipped with the appreciated knowledge, skills and abilities to protect the information technology for strategic advantage" - Professionalizing Cybersecurity: A Path to Universal Standards and Status (2015).
"81% of IT and Cybersecurity Professionals believe that if the right investments in people, process and technologies were in place, their organisations would be better able to mitigate all future security breaches" - 2014 Ponemon Institute Research Report.

Entry requirements | Bachelor's degree with minimum Upper Second Class (2:1) or equivalent in any subject. We accept a wide range of European and international qualifications in addition to A-levels, the International Baccalaureate and BTEC qualifications. Overall IELTS 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in Writing, Speaking, Reading and Listening (or recognised equivalent). Applicants must have current significant work experience in a senior position and a proven commitment to professional, personal and intellectual development.
