Using fundamental and applied techniques, you will work closely with our academics and industry experts to create innovative and sustainable ways to engineer the oceans and their resources.
You will learn to apply theoretical, computational and experimental approaches to solve fundamental and engineering problems associated with open waters and oceans.
You will learn about:
- traditional and emerging ocean engineering problems associated with application in the oil and gas industry
- marine renewable energy
- aquaculture and coastal engineering
- the impact of climate change on coastal structures and infrastructures
Field trips will play a key role in developing your understanding. You could go on trips to wind, tide and wave energy sites, oil and gas development sites, and offshore fish farms.
