Summary
This three year part-time programme is for dental practitioners who would like to develop their theoretical knowledge and practical clinical experience of treatment planning, surgical placement, restoration and maintenance of dental implants.
The programme's design allows you to gain experience using dental implants and prosthodontic elements related to dental implants within a supervised environment, while treating patients. You will build your knowledge through distance learning modules and study days which include a series of hands-on exercises. You will also have the opportunity to carry out a dissertation.
We aim to produce caring, knowledgeable and skilful practitioners who are competent in the provision of the planning, surgical, restorative and maintenance aspects of dental implant treatment, within the limits of the individual clinician.

Entry requirements | BDS or equivalent United Kingdom General Dental Council registrable dental qualification. Two years' experience after completion of an undergraduate degree. For applicants who are currently completing a degree, we understand that their final grade may be higher than the interim grades or module/unit grades they achieve during their studies. We will consider applicants whose interim grades are currently slightly lower than the programme's entry requirements. We may make these applicants an aspirational offer. This offer would be at the standard level, so the applicant would need to achieve the standard entry requirements by the end of their degree. Specific module requirements may still apply. The bench fees for Year 1 are £7125, for Year 2 they are £7125 and for Year 3 they are £1700. The bench fees are to cover clinical costs, such as sourcing a patient for students to work on, materials for practical sessions and the private clinic we operate from.
