Summary

This MA offers a thorough analysis of both historic and present international relations and provides an insight into global politics from a broad range of perspectives.

You will examine the complexities and processes involved in world affairs. You’ll approach and analyse the relationships between states, international institutions, international non-governmental organisations (INGOs) and non-state operators.

This degree will give you a unique interdisciplinary basis from which to examine both historic and current affairs. As well as focusing on the theoretical perspectives of international relations, you will approach a wide range of topics from across the social sciences.

You will develop research and analytical skills throughout your studies. You’ll also be encouraged to apply theory to practice through case study analysis and also learn to understand real-life situations and develop practical policy solutions.

You will also be eligible for an exclusive discounted membership to the Royal Institute of International Affairs, Chatham House. This membership will enable you to attend many prominent meetings, policy discussions and access to rich academic resources.
